Nicky & Dan found us via instagram a few years back, and after one or two postponements the day was finally upon us to play as their Preston acoustic duo and Samlesbury Hall wedding band.
The happy couple us to play for an hour during the drinks reception, as our Preston acoustic duo, and a more upbeat loop set after the meal – The best of both worlds! We were excited to play a mixture of acoustic and looper music.
The last time we performed at Samlesbury Hall was in January 2020, just before the world shut down… I’m not going to lie it was rather cold so we were happy that this was in September, Brrrr!
Nicky had mentioned she’d love all of our folk acoustic duo music, Sea of love from the Juno sound track, Wouldn’t it be nice by the beach boys, basically anything with heart to it, We were more than happy to oblige!
Another one of their favourites was our rather unusual mash up/remix or kiss me by sixpence none the richer mixed with eye of the tiger, It ALWAYS turns a few heads in amazement and confusion 😉 We had to film a little performance of this in front of the amazing Samlesbury Hall before everyone arrived!
Listen to our Acoustic Duo mashup performed at Samlesbury Hall here:
Performing our looper set always grabs the attention of the musicians in the room. Seeing two loopers together, which is rather unique, is a great conversation starter, especially as people never know what song we’re building next! A show and a quiz, what more could you possibly want? 😉
This group of people were total music lovers, they were so intrigued by how we were building each song, which is always nice to see.
Congratulations Nicky & Dan, from what we could see on instagram it looked like you had an amazing time with your DFC DJ!
