When Dewi & Megan first reached out to us looking for an acoustic wedding band for their Hafod Farm wedding day in 2019, we knew they were going to be a special couple. After postponing their big day due to covid, we finally got to perform as the Hafod Farm wedding band in August 2022. The venue, located in the beautiful Snowdonia, is surrounded by stunning views and features a gorgeous 17th century barn.
Dewi & Megan chose our all-day wedding music package, which included performing during the ceremony, the drinks reception, and the wedding breakfast. They also asked us to play a live first dance and an early-evening set as an acoustic duo. Our Snowdonia acoustic duo is versatile and can adapt to any occasion, and we couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and lovely group of people to perform for.
One of the highlights of the day was performing a cover of Ben Howard’s ‘Only Love’ for the couple’s first dance. Megan had heard us perform a cover of ‘Depth Over Distance’ for Katie & Simon’s Wyresdale Park wedding, earlier in the year, and fell in love with Ben’s music. With Matt on vocals and a harmonica solo for texture, we gave the song a folky, acoustic feel that was unique and special for Dewi & Megan’s big day.

But we’re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves…
We also performed John Mayer’s folky version of Beyonce’s ‘XO’ as Megan walked down the aisle. The song had such a special meaning for the couple and has stuck with us since, making appearances at other weddings we’ve performed at.
It changes the feel of the original in interesting and delightful ways, and is a pleasure to perform. When we spoke to Megan after the ceremony, she said that when she heard the opening chords, she got a rush of emotion that carried her all the way down the aisle to Dewi.

We couldn’t have felt more welcome with this bunch of people, we were fed, watered – we were even lucky enough to have a few of the best doughnuts we’ve ever had, the sugar coma was real, and we ALMOST missed our setup deadline for the looper show, oops! It’s your fault for being so lovely, Dewi!
I don’t think we can possibly say much of an awesome day we had, and to have the support of couples, purchasing our bandcamp albums before their wedding day, and sharing our posts/videos on Instagram and Facebook, it really does mean the world, We’ve made lifelong friends, and that we’ll cherish forever!
Before leaving, we had a great opportunity to chat with the couples wedding videographers Cascade Productions. Their work is incredible, and it was invaluable to spend a little time picking their brains about lenses, drones and gimbals. As a result, we’ve been able to implement much of their advice into our own wedding videography company, The Taylors Film & Photo!
